GRABEN Terms of Service

By using the GRABEN app ("the app"), you agree to these terms.

1. Service description

GRABEN is an app for mapping, documenting, and coordinating team-based field research of an area. The app lets you place points on a map, add descriptions and photos, and collaborate within a team ("squad").

2. Account and early access

The app can be used without registration — in that case data is stored only on your device. Registration is required to participate in squads.

During the early testing phase, access to creating your own squads is granted manually, at the developer's discretion, and is not an automatic right of every registered user. Such access may be changed or revoked at any time. Terms following the launch of paid plans will be communicated separately through the app.

3. Responsible use

You are personally responsible for complying with applicable law regarding research of land and territory, including obtaining permits where required by cultural heritage protection legislation. The app is a documentation and team-coordination tool — it does not grant permits to conduct work and does not replace them.

If an object or find you have marked may pose a danger, or involves human remains, immediately stop work at the site and contact local emergency services or authorities in accordance with the law of the country you are in. The app does not assess the danger of objects and does not provide instructions on how to handle them.

4. Prohibited conduct

You may not use the app for unlawful activity, harassment of other users, or uploading content you do not have the rights to.

5. User content

You retain the rights to the content you create (photos, descriptions, coordinates). By adding content to a shared squad, you grant the other members of that squad access to view that content within the app.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is". We do not guarantee the accuracy of GPS coordinates or continuous availability of the service. Personal data stored only on your device is not backed up by us — losing your device or deleting the app can result in permanent loss of such data. We recommend regularly exporting your data via Settings.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, data loss, or consequences of actions taken based on information from the app.

8. Changes and termination of access

We may update these terms and will communicate material changes through the app. We reserve the right to restrict access to the service in case of a violation of these terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine.
